I use Avast on both mine and my wifes PC. Found it excellent, and of course my wife is in love with the voice that tells us " a new database has been installed" or something along those lines.

I also have, http://www.bitdefender.com/site/home/

Bit like belt and braces I know but I seem to remember getting bit defender from this site. And if you have a queery they answer you that day.

I have been using AVG for a good while now, its on both pc's and my laptop, its never let me down, unlike the famouse Norton!. Its also wise to have a good anti spyware program installed to. Im using Microsoft antispyware beta 1, its also free, and is very good.

One word of advice, your antivirus software is of no use to u or ur pc if its not kept up to date ... daily!

it's easy to use, updates are the same as the program...FREE.:-)

Here's another one that may be worth a mention; the ewido security suite. Apparently, it can be used alongside a number of other security applications without interference.

Handy if you don't quite trust your AV of choice to catch everything.

Had my first hiccup with AVG yesterday.
It wouldn't let me update, simple tweak and everything was fine.

Previous to that after being off line for 11 day, got back on line updated avg immediately and it stopped me being hit by 19 viruses within the first few minutes. Nothing but praise for avg.

Couldnt agree more mate.
AVG is quality, free and reliable, Norton is useless expensive and a waste of space.
