Hi All
After months of soul searching I have decided that I am going to go BR
I am currently on a DMP with payplan but owe over 40k and will be paying forever. My fixed rate will end in october and new rate will be 3.84 above base rate and on 194k mortgage I cannot pay that. I cannot re mortgage because of DMP and the withdrawal of mortgage products.
I have put my house on the market but prob no chance it iwll sell, there is not that much equity in it anyway
So if no offers I am not paying the mortgage in september and writing to the bank to tell them they can have the keys back and I will file for bankruptcy
I have read loads of posts on here (you guys are great) and know that the way forward for me is BR
However, I dont know how to find my nearest court, can anyone advise on how I would find this out.
Thanks
Maz

Hi, You can find the contact details for your local court here: http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/HMCSCourtFinder/
I phoned my local county court which doesn't do bankruptcy cases and they told me the court to contact.
I would first of all contact either www.cccs.co.uk or one of the other free debt charities. You will have to do so before bankruptcy anyway as the judge will ask.0 -
HI
Thanks for the replies.
Will I still need to contact one of the other advice places if I am already with payplan? I dont mind talking to them but if payplan + IFA is enough then I wouldnt :-S
Its all pretty confusing and scary even just thinking about it . I am so glad this board is here :-)DMP support thread member no 156 DFD sometime before I retire I hope Proud to be dealing with my debt0 -
Payplan is not a charity so although it won't hurt to talk to them it also won't hurt to talk to other sources. See my signature for numbers and links.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
