Daughter's 20th Birthday, living in Spain

My daughter's 20th birthday is approaching and I am at a loss as to what to buy her. She is going to study in Spain for a year in September and I would like to buy her some useful presents. She has the usual Laptop, iPod etc. Can anyone pleeeeeeaaaaaase suggest anything that might be useful/quirky. She does not want money as she has been working through the summer and is OK. Any suggestions gratefully received

  • How about a little hamper of some of the things she might not be able to get in Spain- I'm thinking marmite, English tea bags, certain brands of toiletries maybe, a subscription a favourite magazine.

I know when I was 20 I would have loved a voucher for some spa treatments; is she in to that kind of thing? Might be nice for before she goes to Spain?

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Magpie,

I live in Spain and I totally agree with got-it-spend-it, magazine subscription, tea bags and books would be a great idea.
I know that you can buy them here, but for anything English, you really end up paying for them.

    Bikini's, bikini's, bikini's ...... lol

Oh and a hot water bottle ..... you probably think I am really mad now, but believe me, when the temperature drops here to at least 10 degrees in the winter, what with tiled floors and no central heating, you really notice it !!!!

Nothing better than a toastie bed !!!!

Memory stick for her laptop, nice underwear esp bras. Although Knickers are cheap over here, if you wear anything other than 34b bra, you're up the creek...so to speak
