Thursday 14/08/08 What small dfw thing have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Today I will:
  • update spreadsheets
  • check online banking
  • do clicks
  • Make a loaf in breadmaker
  • Storecpboard meals
  • Going to theatre tonight, will take own drink and goodies:D Taking my oldies from work to see the musical Oliver.Have instructed them all to take big handbag and own sweeties;)
  • Need to write to child benefit and let them know my DD is staying on at college, this is last month for her child benefit otherwise.
Good morning fellow dfw's:D Still no sign of the sun here, very dull and overcast. KT hope you are feeling a little better today:kisses3: . Everyone else have a good day.

    do daily clicks
    dry washing on the line/airer
take kids to the park (about as far as I can manage without having to take a suitcase of spare clothes for them both just incase!)
write to tax credits - the idiots are overpaying us again
try and keep the tele off all day saving electric - no beebies and no dvds (I hope it stays nice so they can play out.

oh just had to add I cut the kids hair at home this morning, ds was easypeasy with the clippers and looks much neater. I didnt want to cut dd but she insisted and wanted it clippered off and was quite upset she still had hair left after her trim! Its a bit shorter than I wanted to cut it but she moved her head so I had to cut the rest shorter to match!

Morning all. What a day I had yesterday. Completely unDFW

My almost 2 (going on 12) year old son pulled tele over on himself. Had no car so called 118118 for taxi number and asked them to put me through  I feel ashamed! And got nothing else done so lots of making up to do today! (He is fine by the way - just bruised)

    Today I will

Keep an eye on my ebay stuff ending in next hour and get it all parcelled up. Relist any that dont sell with better pics. Made over £60! Even sold a slide I bought a couple of years ago at carboot for £7 for £13!!! Really chuffed. 5 items to relist so must find my camera and get on with that shortly...

Daily clicks Done. Hate those bloomin things but they are paying for xmas so have to be done!

Phone home insurance to find out why the reinstated my DD without permission causing a bank charge  just called them and their systems are down! Also had a lette from them asking me to set up a DD......strange why did they try to take it then if it wasnt active???

    Have a good day all

I had a good day yesterday, didnt manage to update, but I FINALLY SORTED THE SIZE 10 CLOTHES FROM MY WARDROBE FOR EBAY!!!!! Have been meaning to do this for ages, I also shopped around for general everyday shopping, claiming hundreds of extra tesco points, boots points and getting loads of stuff I need anyway on Lidl deals.
    Now today I need to
    - photograph the stuff for ebay, it will get in my way now in piles of clotheson the bedroom floor, so motivated me slightly to do something about it Just finished photographing now
    - maybe ebay list tonight might list
    - phone catalogue to request cheque to be sent to me, they have a money back guarentee, they credited my account instead. I simply want my money back, surely this is within my rights? no
Sure there are more things I need to do but will update later.
-got £5 off shopping in tescos using vouchers, got some baragins too, large packs of ariel £7
    - tried making bread myself (by hand), was a bit sticky, think I out too much water in it, but followed the recipe on the back of the flour

    Morning everyone!

The weather is slightly brighter here this morning, wondering if I should have put my washing out! The last time I did that though it rained hard all afternoon while I was stuck at work.

    Anyway, today I will:
    • Check online banking
    • Have an NSD
    • Slice the Pie (didn't do any yesterday, bad me!)
    • Have packed lunch and eat from stores
    • Do clicks
    • Try to train my extremely thick cats to use the cat flap
    • Do expenses claim for work (it's only a few quid but it all helps :))
I think that's about it, hope everyone's having a good day xx
