    hiya sammy... i wanted sunset song by lewis grassic gibbon.... scottish school syllabus book, i read it at school and now i live in the area where the books are set and thye author lived... so thought i would revisit it, now i'm a local!!!

    Boris - re the ipod... i once reset big G's ipod by holdling down 2 keys at once... couldn't tell you which now but trial and error.... come to think of it, that's probably what PAP has in that link, but i didn't go looking......

    Read at school too and my mum mentioned it the other day. Made me think I would like to read without the pressure of school! :rolleyes: Been trying to hunt down......

    It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
    We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
    Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

    Yep I did Sunset Song at school too! Know my mum's got the whole set (trilogy?) but would never part with them. Not free but have you tried second hand bit on Amazon? Often get books for a few pence on there - come to about £3 including the postage usually.

    There is one copy on readit/swap it .com if you're a member.... whoever was offering it up didn't fancy any of my books to swap... which is a bummer..

    I'm originally from North Ayrshire but my mum lived in Aberdeen for years so she spent many nights helping me with it. I remember loads in the class couldn't understand the language and I was at an advantage! Remember watching the film at school vaguely.
