Wow! - you have changed my view on the first time buyer!! - it's great you see what is happening in the market - realise now is a silly time to buy, and best of all no mention of silly schemes to help you buy!!

I hearby wish you all the luck, although you won't need it as it's an excellent plan!
Do you mean those 75% owned schemes!?! Haven't even looked at that, would rather 100% own than all that part buy part rent!!

Thanks for the good wishes, I am kind of excited now!

Well done! Very wise plan IMO.

All the fool FTBs on here planning to spend fortunes in a falling market and then claiming (or being told) it doesn't matter cos it's a home (as that just makes everything magically OK!) gets a bit tiresome after a while.

Especially when they're just looking for someone (anyone) to agree it's a good idea and ignore everyone else.

good for you for being one of the few sensible ones...
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
