Ooh and Lenny again! I am signed up to a few survey sites including Ciao but they annoy me somewhat, I often get emails from them and they say 'do this survey and get entered into this fantastic prize draw....and get a guarenteed 5p'. Then I think well 5p is 5p and it all adds up but often when I put in that I work in retail I'm told I don't qualify for the survey. Might have to pretend to be a stay at home mum or something lol. I sell things on ebay but am running out of things of value to sell!
I agree Ciao can be a bit annoying, but Valued Opinions is quite good and get yourself registered with shopandscan. Len

Ooh I forgot to mention shopandscan. I'm sure I signed up for them last year but I'll look into it again. is it the thing where you have to scan in everything you buy in shops or something? I remember thinking it sounded like fun (I'm a gadget geek!). Will look at the site and reregister. Think I'm with Valued Opinions aswell but will have a look again :)

I'm not very good at succinct. Why say something in 10 words when 100 will do?

Re: wipes/clothes, look on eBay for fleece wipes or buy some fleece to cut up to make your own. I find them better than flannels as they are small and dry almost instantly.

Could you buy real nappies in your eldest childs size as you'll then use those again for your youngest. Some nappies can be folded down depending oon the age of the child so you might even be able to get something to fit both children.

    Hi Chell

Thanks for the advice on the fleece! You're right fleece does dry fast I never thought of that :)

I had looked into buying real nappies, if I knew we were going to have 2 so close together I probably would have bought them originally for Molly, but as it was we were not even sure we were going to have 2 at all! There's no way we can afford the initial outlay, even if it will save us money in the long run. And my mean council isn't one of those that subsidises the purchase of real nappies either.

Interesting to see you are a baby signing mum - do you go to classes or are you a tutor yourself? I was supposed to be a tutor with a new company called Love and Cuddles but they put off the training for months and months and now the tutors who set up classes are leaving in droves and it seems the whole thing has been a disaster! Hope your classes are better lol!

Sometimes when you try to close a card that is clear, you are offerred an incentive to keep it open. As you are an existing customer they would probably look at your payment history rather than do a credit check. I would suggest, if offerred, going for a life of balance offer rather than 0% - this way anything you are currently paying interest on should be reuced quicker as you are paying less interest. I would either transfer the debt with the highest interest or something that may allow you to get another incentive offer.

I take it you are on a self managed DMP rather than one through CCCS or Payplan?
After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

    Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
    Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0

    Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/2011

Hmm we don't have a card we can try and close though. Unless I work on the Capital One one next and see if we get an offer when we try and close that.

I got advice from the CCCS but they said my level of debt wasn't high enough for them to intervene (send letters out on my behalf etc) also we're not in arrears so I think that had something to do with it too.
