Need car finance for new job
Hubby starting new job next month and needs to get a car (which he has a generous car allowance for). Will someone like Cahoot or one of the cheaper 5.6% loan people offer him this rate if he is just starting the job?
Its a well paid job and we've got savings and a low mortgage and clean credit rating.
Looking to borrow £20k.

tracyk,
had the same "problem" 12 mths ago. Had just started a new job and was refused cheap loan (although my car was a mere £5.2K). Got a sainburys plat card, bought the car with it, still on 0% and have just BT to another 0% card for a further 9mths (it doesn't get any cheaper than that
would suggest you, if possible, get a couple of 0% CC and use them to buy the car or a SBT CC that you can transfer your credit limit to your bank account and use the money (please note that current SBT cards carry a 2% fee and this can be capped or uncapped).
hope this helps0 -
Tracyk,
Has hubby left old job yet?
If not he can perfectly legally apply for loan using current income details. The forms never ask if you have resigned yet!
Who do you bank with too? It maybe they can get close to the best rates these days.
Just don't go for a car dealer loan if you can help it - they tend to be higher priced and less flexible.
Good luck.
R.Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.
