My Other Half is on about getting one of these, but I've not heard a lot about them yet. I need to do some research on it.

well up untill now ive always been a dyson lover and upright but i have to say im impressed !!
i got the s5211 as it does all floors etc its costs £139.00 but i went to debenhams today opened an account and got 10% off plus a further 10% so i got it for £112.00 v happy lol0 -
Our vaccum cleaner packed up at the weekend..........already got through a dyson upright -much too heavy for me, I was thankful when it gave up the ghoset. Then we got a panasonic upright which was ok till my back started to play up again so hoovering up begain OH's chore.
Now we've got a weeny little upright cleaner............I ordered it from my catalogue (not having the ready cash available)........I could even carry it in its box from the front door ! Itll want emptying after each room I think, judging by the size of it, but I can live with that.........it was only £40 and at least I can push it around with little effort. If we find it just isn't enough then we'll keep it for upstairs and get another but for the time being it'll do.Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

I had a Dyson, which I was impressed with to begin with, but in the end it just didn't cut the mustard (or suck up the dust) and generally kept cutting out, until one day it was just no more.
I replaced it with a Miele about a year ago, and I find it wonderful.
It sits nicely on my stairs when I have to hoover them.
It has great suction.
I love the different attachments, including the one for the wooden/laminate flooring.
The bags are easy to change (although expensive).
The suction on the top setting is a little fierce though, LOL!GC - March 2024 -0 -
I love my Miele cat and dog. It's the best vacuum I've ever used. It has a special head that has electric powered brushes that you can choose to use and it is far superior to an upright because of this.
Mr Sunflower doesn't love it as he says it's too diffucult to push round but I have no complaints.
Re: the bags being pricey, if you sign up for the 5 year insurance you get 5 years worth of 'free' bags. As we reguarly blow up motors on vacs (very hairy pets!) we decided to go with it as the bags promotion means that the insurance itself costs very little, afterall you'd need to pay for bags anyway.
With the filters which need replacing regualry I've found that if you ignore the cutting guide printed on it and use your nut you can get two filters from the one piece.0 -
right i have hooverd my entire house phew ! And i have to say its brilliant at picking up however the stairs thing bugs me i can only get half way up b4 i have to come back down then tya nd hold hoover and vacume at same time !
Im gonna join there warrentty thing for 5 years0 -
I have a miele cat & dog, its very good except I haven't worked out how to change the filter - I can't get the foam out of the little cage!0

I have a cat & dog too - its about 3 years old I think and hasn't gone wrong (touch wood! - I didn't take out the insurance!). I don't seem to get through bags much, although I should probably vacuum more often!
I never have it on maximum suck. I'd suck the carpet up!
On the price of bags, I have tried the cheaper non-miele ones but don't like them - they are too hard to get fit - but they do work (and filter replacements are included) if the budget requires!0 -
I didn't know they did a 'cat & dog' or I would have bought it - however the Miele I have is great, it is the first vacuum cleaner to really cope with this dirty old farmhouse where dirt is walked in continuously and cat hair and cat litter sprinkled around liberally. I bought a brand new Electrolux a few years ago which I had to scrap even before the warranty was out, as it was just not up to the job. I never use the Miele on top setting either as first of all I prefer the 'lower-noise' setting and secondly it seems to think it is full much quicker when on top suction."Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0
