My sister is off to Australia for xmas and has asked for Australian Dollars instead of a pressie

    Hi loopyloulou,

You should get more help from the experts on the Special Occasions board so I've moved your thread across.

  • How about something cheesy and Aussie themed like attaching dollar bills (is it dollars they have?!) to the corks on those traditional hats. Or buy a fluffy kangaroo toy and stuff money in its pouch.

For my brother in law last Christmas I bought a tin and then found lots of sweets and snacks and layered sweets with money up to the top so it made no noise when rattled!

    Are australian dollars not waterproof??

Could you submerge them?? Only if they are actually waterproof.

Could you buy her more of a holiday related gift?

My boyfriend went to Oz last year and his sister paid for him to climb the sydney bridge (as it was somthing he wanted to do) for his xmas pressie.

Could you get a boomerang (ebay?) and 'wrap' the notes aorund it and wrap in cellophane to secure them?

I love the idea of putting money inside a kangaroo pouch!
