Hi all,
I work full time and would ideally want some kind of internet based work just to generate some extra cash.
I have looked into a few online work from home schemes, they all sond great, but how do you which are genuine and which are scams? I'm sure that they aren't all scams but I just dont know how to figure it out.
If anyone has any proven links or tips, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Basically, if they want your money and won't tell you exactly what you'll get for it then they are a scam. Actually, if they want your money before they'll pay you then they are a scam.
I don't know of any legitimate work from home schemes as when I did that search all I got was a load of companies who wanted between £15 and £100 to put me on their database, no promise of any work and no chance of a refund. After searching about a bit on those specific companies I found plenty of people online who paid their 'registration fee' and never heard anything again. Unfortunately if the company make no promises about availability of work then keeping your details on a list is all they legally have to do.0 -
Take a look at getafreelancer.com, you can get work for free, all different types depending on your skills.
It is not a scam as I have obtained work off there and been paid.Payment a day challenge: £236.69

if your not sure about a company, then google their name, if they are a scam it usually comes up with links to websites about people moaning about it.0

I've also been offered work from there, although a word of caution, as on both occasions, the person has tried to undercut the agreed rate...
I tend to use it as inspiration for what I can do, and what I can trawl for elsewhere. It's brilliantly useful for that.£5 a day in December £179.59/£155£100 on STP by 31 January 09 £2.03/£1000 -

Can I ask what type of work you do?
I've looked at that website many times, and the pay is appalling. $1 per 500-word article? What kind of writer agrees to that kind of pay scale? $300 to ghostwrite an entire book?0 -
I just do admin, spreadsheets etc.
I know the pay is apalling but I was lucky to get awarded some good projects that paid well, although people were bidding ridiculous amounts of money for hours of work it doesn't mean they always get chosen.
I don't think you can compete with countries that have a lower cost of living so I don't - I quote what I am prepared to work for.
Elance.com pays a better rate, I believe there is free membership there now. I joned there where it was fee paying to get work and it was actually worthwhile.
I stopped doing freelance work because I wanted to improve my writing skills (I can write but takes me ages to do one article).I've also been offered work from there, although a word of caution, as on both occasions, the person has tried to undercut the agreed rate...
I have to say I have been lucky and not had this problem, but you can ask for escrow before you start the job.Payment a day challenge: £236.69

Rainbow-carnage - If you're a writer you could try !!!!!!
With helium you write articles and yes it does pay peanuts but there are weekly contests (I won one once and got $50 for a 400 word article).
If you're a good writer (which I hope to be one day) you have a good chance on there of earning some cash.
