Asda V Somerfields price match.......

Somerfields bring out a new leaflet fortnightly,
so Look out for BOGOF's or half price (at somerfields),
THEN look on the Tesco website/instore for Multisave's (3 for 2 or 3 for £3 etc.....)

This weeks leaflet 2nd-15th Nov has the following.......

P-2307-t.gifpepsi (ALL VARIETIES) 2ltr BOGOF in somerfields, Asda's doing a mulisave buy 3 for £3 (saving 96p per 3)
So buy 6 and you get...
3 x £1.32
3 X £0.00 (bogof)
Multisave £1.92
Total £2.04

P-980430-t.gif4 x 113mls BOGOF in somerfields, Asda's have £1.00 off them £1.98 plus in Asda for every 6 packs you buy the 10% wine discount comes off (don't ask why)....
So Again for 6
3 x £1.98
3 x £0.00 (bogof)
- £1.19 (wine disc.)
Total £4.75  Yes for 6 x 4 packs!!!!!!

P-130313-t.gifTennents Velvet (not a multisave) but BOGOF works out at 43p a can

Stock Up for Crimbo!!

I'd love to know if anyone succeeds in this.

I'm sure the price match is based on a like for like product, so if Somerfield is selling Pepsi 2.0l at 6 for £3.96, (i.e. 2 for £1.32) then Asda will price match that.

I don't think you can pick & mix which part of the deals you want, i.e. the lower unit price from Asda and the BOGOF offer from Somerfield.

Edit: Somerfield unit price for Pepsi 2.0l is £1.34 (plus BOGOF). So I believe Asda will only price match 6 for £4.02.
Still a saving compared to the Asda non price matched price of 6 for £6.00, but why not just go to Somerfield?

I done it Yesterday and it's not the first time i've done it (and others), Asda price match ANY flyer's not just somerfields!
Last week i even went over to CS desk and showed her that i had been overcharged by 2 bottles of pepsi, i had to give her the flyer along with the recieipt which she thoroughly scanned, seeing the price difference and multi-save's she could have used it against me from getting a refund but she didn't!
Why not use Somerfields? Because if i can get my goods cheaper elsewhere and save a few bob, then why not?

Anyway, yes Somerfields sell it for £1.34 BOGOF, but by purchasing it Asda you get the multisave of 96p per 3 bottles, So buying 6 bottles of pepsi out of Somerfields would cost you £3.72 compared with Asda's price for 6 bottles = £2.04 as 2 x 96p multisaves come off

My Asda will only price match BOGOFS if the flyer has a price. Then they charge the Somerfield price and give the 2nd free. So yes I have gained as described for the Pepsi but the Snowball stuff would make no difference.

You lucky buggers - my Asda won't except BOGOF's as an admatch, they say its not a 'price match'. Got the same response when I contacted head office, so if you can get away with it - stock up.

Please be explicit when discussing BOFOF with the HO.

I do not doubt they will price match BOGOF - but will they price match BOGOF based on their discounted unit price or the competitors higher unit price? (If I understand correctly, Rambler is suggesting that BOGOF is not matched at all - this may be true as the BOGOF could be classified as a free gift and price match policies often exclude these)

Also please check policy on accepting discount vouchers if you can. I was in my local Asda today - on every till there was a sticker alerting the cashiers
    Vouchers?
    1. Did the customer actually purchase the product
    2. Asda and manufacturer vouchers only (no competitors vouchers)
    3. Over £5? Call runner.

And don't forget to get the Duty Manager's name and contact number - I guess many of us are going to need it when we are in discussion with our local store manager

    Thanks :)
