Hi all.
We are petitioning for bankruptcy at the end of August. SOAs are virtually filled in-courtesy of the debt counsellor who has been helping us. However on our form we have our car listed as an asset even though it's on HP, and we only signed for the car in March.
Can anyone please advise us whether this is the correct info or not as our 'lady' is now currently on holiday.
Just rang National Debtline and my call was terminated due to the 'high levels of 'phone calls we are receiving'.
MAny thanks yet again-from Jo & Al-very very STRESSED!!!!!!!!

If it is on HP it is not yours to sell, it belongs to the HP company so is not an asset. I think all you do with this is put the HP payment on your I&E as an outgoing. Not 100%but I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.
Do you want to keep the car? Have you been paying the agreed amount? Is there a BR clause in the agreement?BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
howdy yes we would like to try and keep the car, hubby needs a car for work etc. However, yes there is a clause in the paperwork regarding bankruptcy.

If the car is on finance, then question 3.7 requests that you give the amount of finance outstanding and the name of the finance company.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Hi Fermi. The car has been listed as an asset in 3.7, but also in the 3.1 section. Is the 3.1 section right? This is our thinking as technically because it's on HP, it isn't our car.
