please dont wear the 5's, tight shoes damage your joints long term
especially if you try stretching them by wearing socks they will squeeze your
    fjoints even more.

go with the 6's - easy to slip on and off under the table!!!
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

It's worked for me in the past but don't know if they were leather shoes... Another thing my brother used to do was push a giant potatoe into the shoe and heat it with a hairdryer... Would heat up the shoe and stretch it to fit the potatoe...

On a plus side, I don't think you will be wearing them for 6 hours... My wedding shoes are extremely high.. I have plans on removing them as soon as the photos are finished... I'm guessing 2 hours tops.... lol.

  • Well, I ended up with the 6's as we needed to return a pair before me mate when on to Ireland (where she is getting married) and I had to make a quick decision.

I have all me insoles and heel things, I will put them all in and give them a trial tomorrow, in addition to sandpapering the soles too!

Will let you know the outcome!

    Thanks all!

i got some shoe tree things on ebay which can be used to stretch shoes - they made some of mine a lot more comfortable. if you search for 'shoe tree' or 'shoe stretcher', they should come up. might make the 5s useable on width?
    :happyhear
  • Well, they fit!

I had the insole and with much cutting and snipping have got them in the shoe without them being seen from any angle- wooo

Then with a gel heel thing on each foot, all is okay. although after wearing them for about 1/2hour one started to slip, so I will pop more gel heel things in and hope that will do it. I won't wear them anymore now incase they do stretch...

Also rubbed the soles on the walls to make them non-slip- worked a treat. (no sandpaper and I hate them brillos- ewww me teeth!)

Thanks for all your help guys!!
    One happy bridesmaid here!

  • im having the same problem except i bought the size too big as the peep toes were totally cutting into me in the smaller size, so i git a size bigger for width and peep toe. Mine are peep toe wedges with a kinda sandal bar on them, so i will try and make a lower hole on the strap to keep them on me. Because mine are sandal-ish i dont even think ill get away with any form of insoles etc, but i just cant cant cant wear any kind of normal heel as my feet ache almost instantly, the only heel i can wear is a wedge xmyx

i was told to go outside and do the twist on the pavement to roughen up the sole of my shoes. I've yet to do it but it sounds like fun lol

My shoes have little ridges in the sole... Not much tho... The twist on the patio sounds like a good idea!
