Base Rate

Sarah,
Most banks base rates are identical to the Bank of England Rate which is currently 5%.
I think some banks have their own base rates so they can make a bit more money buy not reducing their base rates in line with the Bank of England until the start of the following month.
Otherwise I suggest calling them.

Depends what you need the base rate for.
If you are comparing current accounts they do not go with the base rate, for example the credit interest on a current plus account is 0.1% but the debit (overdraft) is 19.9%.
Savings accounts obviously vary again.0 -
