Statutory Demand for Bankruptcy - HELP

Hi all

I have receieved a letter from a debt company saying they are going to apply for statutory demand for bankruptcy. That or i can contact them to pay the debt off in full.

I cannot afford to pay it in full.

Can they make me bankrupt with out my say so?

I am really worried, this debt is from around 4 years ago which an ex partner got me in to at the time.

I have little income.

Does anyone have any advice, info about the above?

    Can you tell us what this debt was for, how much and who is chasing you for it? Have they been in touch before about this debt or is this out of the blue?
