We've blagged 100 Energenie Automatic Standby Shutdowns worth £13 each to give away to MoneySavers. This is a bit different to usual give-aways of this size as we'd like to ask that those who get one to come back to the site and let everyone know how you get on with it so others that didn't get one can see your feedback.
What is it?
While it's rather a mouthful to say, the Automatic Standby Shutdown is essentially a device with its own socket that you plug your appliance into. You then plug that into your wall socket.
It can be used for almost any piece of electrical equipment which has a standby mechanism (with the exception of video players, cable and satellite boxes and laptops) and so when you put it on standby it cuts the electrical current going to it.
For more info have a look at the site: Energenie Automatic Standby Shutdown.
What to do
If you're interested, just reply to this (click on 'post reply' below) and sayBuzz Buzz
To do this you need to be registered for the Forum (if you're not, when you click reply you'll be taken through the process, it's free of course).
This thread will be closed and the winners picked at 5pm next Monday (18 August). The names of the winners will be added to this post and included in next week's email.
The specifications required to use these are a voltage of 220V - 250V AC 50Hz, 13 Amp maximum current and 3Kw maximum load so to be fair to other MoneySavers please only reply if your supply meet these requirements.
What to do if you're picked
If you've been picked then you''ll need to send us your details as soon as possible so we can collate them and send all of them to Energenie together. The details of how to do that will be given here together with the names on Monday.
Once you've received one all we ask is that you come back and rate it's MoneySaving usefulness.

Good Grief didn't see this post until now and what a brilliant looking solution to my problem - socket behind the massive wardrobe (fingres and toes cross or the plastic comes out to play)
It's hard to find the balance when you are love.
You're lost in the middle cause you have to decide between mind & heart.
Heart is the engine of your body but brain is the engine of life.
