I would contact NACRO - they run a helpline for disclosure applicants.

the helpline for information and advice or ring 020 7840 6464 (freephone 0800 0181 259 for Disclosure applicants, their family and friends only).

When he filled out his disclosure did he declare his convictions? And was it a standard or enhanced CRB that they requested from him?

It may be that if he said that he did not have any then he is in contravention of the councils policy, but if he has then all of that has to be taken into account.

it may depend on what was said/written when he first took this job. If the council asked on the original employment form about previous convictions (ones that are not "spent") and he said that he did not have any--then he may have some problems. However, if they never asked he did not have a duty to tell them, and should be ok. It may also be worth him joining a union now, they may offer some advice even at this stage.
    NACRO is a great idea.
    good luck

  • Thankyou so much for your replies,

I dont think they asked him when he originally started but they are trying to get rid of people instead of making them redundant hence the CRB checks....Trying to get him to join a union now and I will also ask him to phone NACRO.

    Thankyou

Keep us posted, particularly if they never asked in the first place
After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
    To dissolve the people
    And elect another?

Is it remotely possible for you to make even a half arsed attempt at posting like you had an education? That lot above just makes you look like a Jeremy Kyle guest.
