All DONE!

Hello just thought i would tell you all that i am now bankrupt!!! and what happend......... it feels so good to have that all gone.

I was very very scared of it all but to be honest it was really nothing to worry about.

Phoned the court and booked, filled out the forms and off i went.

I waited to go in for interview not bad at all it was just like being in a council office not like the dream the night before!!! all doom and gloom.

I had help filling in the questions on the forms that i could not do! I was told that they think IVA's are bad news! Then went home for a couple of hours.

Then I was called back to be told it had gone through all ok. Did the Bible thing, off home!!! Did not feel like a celebration i was just glad to be free.

Two days later get forms about OR interview and it is at the end of this month on the telephone. Sign and return forms to them agreeing to terms of BR.

Just called co-op today and all fine they are sending a my card in the next few days. I was even told that after 6 months i can have an upgrade my account to have an overdraft! How mad is that.

Also you know what people do not really seem to care you are BR it seems normal. I told my landlords and was really worried but they don't mind at all....

So i hope this helps some of you and any questions i am happy to answer.

Good luck and it really is ok x
AND A REALLY BIG THANK YOU TO YOU GUYS :j

  • Well done and thanks for taking the time to post.

Can i ask, did you apply for the co-op account before the BR hearing or after?

I would like to get one before but not sure if they would freeze it and therefore I should wait? I dont want to have to go to barclays after theyve been **** in regards to my debt. Plus co-op seems to offer the visa electron.

I just noticed, youve only just posted this! It was this morning, god it feels so real. In the morning your terrified, by lunch time, you're free.

I need to find a way to do this!

Well done and im really happy for you

Well done queenie. Hope all goes well with the OR.

Blueo. I got my co-op after bc but the chap i spoke to said their cashminder is ideal for bc as it is one of the very few accounts that do not get frozen. In my 9 mths on this forum i have only known one co-op account get frozen and that was merry's. If you open one try not to actually use it until after bc.

Sarah. The OR does not tell your employer.

  • Hi All
Sarahjane: you pay your fee on the day to the person who checks the forms.
as for work im not really sure as i have not got my interview until the end of the month but i do know you are given a nill tax code. As for the paper, people do not read that part only you will as you now know about it. It is also very small part.

Blueopal: The man i spoke to said the accont will not be frozen as it has no borrowing attached to it, also you can have D/D and S/O

Hope this helps and i will keep you all posted

  • Well done for getting through it .....

Lacoste-kid - I was told i had to list all bank accounts you held OR currently hold. But tell the OR when you have quick chat with them that it only for living expens, and it will be ok.
