No - He will only get free dental care if he meets certain criteria for income, savings etc. Being a student does not get you free dental care.

If he is on a low income, he can apply for help with costs. He would need to complete a HC2 form, available to order from www.ppa.nhs.uk, or most medical practices will have copies.

Which Uni is he off to?

If it's one with a dental training hospital, then he could make friends with a dental student whilst he's there!
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

I think you'll find he will still have to find a NHS dentist.

My son is a student and entitled to free pescriptions because of low income, but has to pay for dental treatment as he doesn't have/can't find a NHS dentist.
