Daily express

Was watching BBC news 24 and they were reviewing tomorrows newspapers and the expresses front page headline was about house prices about to soar. The 2 presenters reviewing the papers nearly laughed. 1 of them even said the parers record with house prices was bad 2 years ago he said prices were about to crash now they are about to soar. I suppose it must sell papers for them.

Obviously they were p1ssed when it went to print surely. Didn't the express used to be or still is ??? a tory paper. I don't buy dailys myself, read others if they are around. If this is the case they are on the ball.......NOT.
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

They use that headline once every couple of weeks or so. Possibly the owner or the editor has a big property portfolio? You have to feel sorry for their readers who have believed it and acted on it, though.
Hurrah, now I have more thankings than postings, cheers everyone!

"Crucial new evidence in Princess Di inquiry causes house prices to soar" says the Express yesterday

OK they didn't say that, but they might as well have. Honestly, as a paper its not much better than the Daily Sport IMO.
  • Doesn't the owner of the Express also run such titles as "Lusty Asian Babes"?
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

Yes indeed he does. And it has to be said that Lusty Asian Babes is a much superior read to the Daily Express. :T

He also owns the adult channel Television X, and has an interesting approach to board meetings apparently - http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2004/apr/22/dailyexpress.politicsandthemedia1

I remember well when Richard Desmond worked in the same industry as me. Not sure if anyone remembers this 70`s publication, Beat Instrumental? Well as I recall he sold advertising space for them. He then went onto publish International Muscian. We used to buy ad space there. I got on very well with the guy although he did have the nick name of Tricky Dicky.

Hahaha excellent, the guy is a bigger joke than his newspaper, quite the achievement!
