Attractive storage container labels

We have been decorating our utility room where storage containers of flour, sugar, lentils etc are kept. I had got some labels and written on them but have noticed how horrible they are now looking. Dirty caused through handling and dust , I suppose. Does anyone have a better solution? I suppose they really need to be able to be wiped with a damp cloth

How about those old fashioned parcel labels, which attach with string (to the neck of the jar) covered in sticky back plastic?0

How about using a fancy font and laminating your labels?

I wonder if a xyron used by cardmakers would create a laminated sticky label?
Do you know any cardmakers?

What about blackboard stickers, you can use chalk and if you change the contents you just wipe it clean

Get normal labels , and write the name on with a nice coloured pen , like lentils in orange extra.. then stick on wack some sticky back plastic on and ta dah
Or or..
Cut out the shape of the food with some card for example , use white card for flour then decorate it like a normal bag of flour , and then put it on with the sticky back plastic.. hm what else
