Help please 'debt nerds'

-
I sent by registered post a letter asking the debt co to give me details of what this debt is (it doesn't actually specify council tax; just gives the name of the 'creditor' as being a city council.
Then I called the CCCS. This may be of interest to anyone else in the same boat:
The CCCS says that to receive a 'give us all the money now' letter from a DCA with no threat of a summary warrant or other court action is 'odd' and does not show due diligence.
Just as I thought: this lot are chancers.
The good news is that, since I sent my letter by registered post, they can't do anything until they furnish me with the details of what this 'debt' is.
So thanks to everyone who helped: it's been an education, having a swim in these muddy waters ;-00
