Few questions still...

Just checking through my paperwork that my CAB adviser did for me.
My oh pays money towards his debts, but his full income has been put on my paperwork. I know I need to amend this BUT would I need to recopy all the forms or is it ok to have a mendments. It's only 30.00 but that of course ups my surplus.
My gas and elec are on prepay, what happens to these?? both have arrears. But due to price increases the arrears money will still be needed to afford gas and elec. Do I ring Scottish Power and give my BR details as well as up to date readings and they adjust my meters. As they are still taking money for arrears which I'm not allowed to pay after BR. Hubby taking over both these and moving to British Gas after my BR.
I opened my cashminder account 4 weeks ago, but only had my tax credits paid in for last 3 weeks. Been waiting ages for a court date hence set this up. I'm hoping that I will be able to keep this account. Anyone know??
Sorry for the questions but I goto court this thursday, and don't want to be doing them last thing.

No worries the last few days before bc are when the nerves set in. Good luck.DFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Hi,
I had to amend a few areas on my forms and it was no problem. The clerk just stamps it to show that he is aware of the changes and thats it.
With reference to your account. I had an account up and running and I just explained to the OR the situation and he had no problem with it.0 -
You need to make any amendments on each form (obviously making them the same!) and sign each amendment. You should only be putting on the forms the financial contribution that your OH makes to the household, so his own bills should be his own doing (his own car insurance if out of his account, and his debts etc - none should be included). Show any amendments to the Clerk though.
Talk to the OR once you have been made BR about the arrears on your gas/electric meters. He will probably suggest that you contact your supplier to let them know - it will take a while to sort out, but talk to the OR for advice about it. It keeps them informed and shows that you are trying to sort things out.
As to the cashminder, the OR will probably let you keep it - you have no debt on it, its a basic account and if its for day to day living expenses then they are unlikely to have any interest in it. Its not guaranteed though!! (Nothing in guaranteed in BR).0 -
Thanks for your advice.
Just found something else sorry ......
My adviser has got the council tax arrears & rent arrears on the soa. Obviously these are joint and will transfer to hubby after Thursday. Am I right in thinking the OR will know that they still have to be paid. Adviser has wrote next to them that they are joint debts.
Yes I know the nerves are kicking in now. I've waited weeks for the appointment and have been calm until now.
Better write a note for what to tell the OR as I am sure to get all panic and forget. Still being treated for depression and panic attacks.BSC No: 186 There is always light at the end of the tunnel. Unless someone's nicked the candle !

Don't worry - they have to be paid, so either include the amounts on your SOA AND the amount your OH will be paying within his contribution or take them off the SOA but remember to deduct the amount from the contribution OH makes to the household.
There will be lots of questions you will want to ask the OR, so writing them down is an excellent way to remind yourself. So much goes on at the time and racing around our heads that its easy to forget something.0 -
There's no need to worry, nobody will be judging you on the day! Is your cashminder account with coop?

Yes it is with the Co Op. I opened it a few weeks ago when I thought my date would be through so it would be ready.
Didn't know at time would take nearly 8 weeks for BR date.BSC No: 186 There is always light at the end of the tunnel. Unless someone's nicked the candle !
