HELP! The classic red sock in a white wash disaster!

Now everything, inculding several of my sons babygrows, are pink:p I washed on a hot (60 degrees) wash initally when it ran, a mix of towels, babygrows, tea towels etc. I immediately washed again on a clod wash and used colour run remover but everything's still rosy:eek: Anything else I can try please?

Thanks

Try another colour run remover wash, but if that doesn't work, you may have to resort to a soak in a weak bleach solution.

You beat me to it again.

Sometimes soaking in a vanish solution for hours does the trick (for the washing, not me!)

Have a look at this - it's basically echoing what TM and Elona have already said, but might be worth a look anyway.

    Good luck!!
I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle

Isn't there one of those magic packets of stuff you can get to put in the wash that will take dye out?? Look in the laundry aisle...

Think I've seen these, but not tried it. A cold wash may have sealed the colour in, as it fixes colur :(

  • I bought some colour run remover when I turned my cream towels yellow. But I had to soak them in the solution for a few hours before washing. There was still a yellow twinge, but nowhere near as bad. But then again the towels had been tumble dried before I noticed the disaster so it would probably work better if they had been straight from the washing machine.

One tip I used to use when living on my own and didn't have enough to separate a full load into different colours. I put a handful of salt into the drum and the colours never ran. I didn't try it with whites though.

    Good luck!

I did this once with my ex OH's cricket stuf...hilarious results, Ok if you're playing for the Barbie 11.

I did as previously suggested, soaked overnight in weak bleach, washed again...good as new!
