wtc no longer in wage packet

i read in the newspaper that from the 7th november wtc will no longer be paid in your wage packet, did i read this right, and if so how will they pay us?

  • it will gradually get phased out from that date to 31/3/06.
your employer should send you a letter explaining this and then at some point it will stop in your wages and get paid into your bank accout (as long as I.R have bank dets for you under the person who is to receive wtc)

the government do listen to you, most employers and employees have complained about wtc throught the wage for one reason or another and they have changed, keep speaking up regarding problems and the other sorry messes may get attention too

  • We have had WTC paid into our bank account for about 2 years now since DH changed jobs. It is paid into our account every week along with CTC but is shown as 2 seperate amounts on the bank statement.
It seems to be a much better way of receiving it as it doesn't get swallowed up in the end of month direct debits!

  • We had our's paid direct into the bank since DH started his job earlier this year but when I informed the tax credits about a change of company name (they have been taken over so nothing else has changed just the name) they sent us a letter saying that from this week it will be paid thorough his wages. Why on earth couldn't they have left it as it is rather than set it up for his wages only to stop paying in that way in the near future?
  • any change in circumstances reported before 7/11/05 that results in you being entitled to wtc will result in the money being paid through the employer. the change you had would have been actioned about 4 weeks ago if his wtc is to be paid this week
