Crisis Loans

I read on a thread on here that someone should get a crisis loan from the social to pay their bankruptcy fees.
Is this allowed and do you need to say why you need the money for when filling in the forms?
We are on benefits and would probably go down this avenue to raise the bankruptcy fees if this was allowed.

Not sure about the loan but if you have any money(as in credit) left on cc or overdraft the OR does turn a blind eye to you using that for bc fees.DFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Hi, Ive seen a few people take a budgeting loan from the DWP for the fees. There is a tick box for paying off existing credit on the form. They can also take the money back during your BR, so proably less 'dodegy' than a c/c.

Thanks for the info Debt Doctor. I will probably apply for a budgeting loan. Do you add this as a debt on your bankruptcy petition?

Hi,
yes put it on the petition. The loan gets paid back whilst your undischarged, the remainder is written off.

Does anyone know if it possible to get a budgeting loan when you are BR, does it come into the same class of loans?0

Hi,
You could have one up to £ 500 without telling them you are BR.
