Hi-Can any of you good folk tell me whether it`s worth driving from Wales for the balloon festival, please? Weather not too great here, so really don`t know what to do (have got a car parking ticket) Would appreciate any feedback as regards the rain, condition of the ground, etc. Cheers:beer:

Hi Red Arrow,
The Red Arrows are at the Fiesta at 4pm this afternoon. Not sure if the balloons are going up this afternoon yet, wont find out till about 3.30 this afternoon - the mass ascent (if it goes ahead) will be at about 6.30ish. If the balloons go up it's worth going over just to see that.
The full programme is on the Fiesta website.
There's alot going on there all day, but it poured down in Bristol all day yesterday so if you do go make sure you take spare footwear (wellies are probably a good idea!).
As it's all free it may well be worth the drive anyway. If you know the area park away from Ashton Court and walk, if not I think you should be able to get parked - think the charge is £5.
Weather here at the moment is just dull.0 -
Thanks, MichH-From what you`re saying, it`s well worth a visit- I`m coming over then!!! Really appreciate the reply.0

QUICK UPDATE: It's just started pouring down. If you do decide to come over anyway bring a big brolly!!
Another update: The sun's come out!!!!0 -
This evenings balloon flights have been cancelled.
Red Arrows still planned to go ahead at 4pm for anybody wanting to head to the Fiesta for the afternoon. :T0 -
Well, the Red Arrows were fab! Weather very iffy, though- plenty of mud (hooray for the wellies), & we didn`t see a single balloon!:p The weather in the UK makes it pretty nigh impossible to plan anything, that`s for sure......0

Hi,
I know this is an old thread, but it looks like it's on for 2010.
Has anyone been to this, I've got a young son, will he find it interesting?
I'm getting information from the Heart Bristol website and the official website
(sorry, not allowed links or something)
any reviews of stalls and stands and things they have there?
Thanks!

How young? And does he like hot air balloons?
It can be a bit noisy and crowded ...Signature removed for peace of mind0
