Paperwork for OR

Hi,
I will file for BC next week in the RCJ. The forms are ready and have been checked by CAB but I just want to check what the OR will then ask me for later.
Is it my past 3 wage slips, last 12 months of bank / CC statements and loan agreements? For the loan agreements, I only have the summary page from the internet. Will they ask for anything else?
Thanks.

Dont worry too much about any paperwork. There is absolutely nothing they ask for that they cannot get (and will anyway) from other means - (Inland Revenue/Creditors etc). Just send what you have and explain why somethings missing. But most of all, do not worry about it too much.
They will ask for a copy of your rental agreement or rent card too.
If they come across anything in their investigations and ask for it, they will. If you don't have, then you don't have it.0 -
As Skylight has said. They might ask for statements etc, but if you don't have them, just tell them that and they can arrange with your creditors themselves for copies to be sent to them. I told my OR that in the current climate of identity fraud etc I only had the latest bank statements, credit card statements etc as once I had checked the credits and debits on the previous months I then shredded the older documents. He was fine with that and understood totally why I would do that. I assume he got copies from each of the banks and card companies himself because I have heard no more since.
I used the RCJ to file my petiton a few months back. Remember to go to the cashiers office to pay the fees before you go to the court clerks to file the application! The 2 offices are opposite ends of the entire court site. A bit of a trek but well worth it when you are handed the BR order back and walk out the front doors ten feet taller!!!! No one who did the deed the same day as me had to see the judge. They just took the paperwork, heard the oath and then said come back at 2:30pm. I had a stroll along the Thames and a quick look around St Pauls. Very nice indeed. You might want to take a book to read as there is a fair bit of hanging around.
Also, when I was there the paperwork told me not to go to straight to the OR's office like you had to in the past. It said they will call in a few days, and they did. Job done. All I was able to send them was my latest statements and all my cards cut in half. I sent these Special Delivery to ensure their safe arrival.
I had a letter a month or so later asking for another 15 months of payslips to make the total he had up to the previous 18 months. I had these still, so I sent them off. Again, Special Delivery.
That has been my total involvement with the OR (apart from the telephone interview of course!) so far. I know they can phone or write at any time for further info, and of course, I am fine with that. But that's my tale so far really.
All the best on the day.:beer:0 -
Thanks Finito,
That's really useful, the more I know about the process, the less anxious I feel.
When the OR called you a few days after the BC order, did they do the interveiw then or was that done after you had sent in statements etc.?0 -
The not knowing what will happen bit was what worried me the most, until I found this forum!
I had an initial phone call about 2 or 3 days after the BR order was made. This call was just to set up a convenient time and date for the actual OR telelphone interview. I agreed the OR interview for a few days later.
The OR phoned 10 minutes late, something that is quite unusual apparently as they are normally as punctual with the time of the call as a Japanese train service is about getting the train in on time!
Anyway, the call lasted about 15 minutes, though they can be a lot longer depending how complex your case is, and whether or not your petition is filled in fully with as much detail as possible.
There was no mention of an IPA, no mention of a BRU (although that can always come later once they have investigated your case) and no mention of taking my vehicle away.
I still have my vehicle. There has still been no mention of an IPA, and still no word on a BRU. All good news so far!!!!
The OR office you will be dealing with is based in Bloomsbury Street (I think thats the coorect address!?) and they have been brilliant with me so far.
The OR asked me to send him as many bank statements as I had. As many credit card statements as I had and all my cards cut in half. They also wanted photocopies of any insurance documents I had, vehicle, house contents etc. And that was it basically.
Any more questions, just ask away!!0 -
I think it all depends on the individual case and you don't need to take any of the paperwork with you on the day of BR. I too went to the RCJ in April. The OR will phone you within about a week and let you know what they need. I only had to give 3 months payslips but I did have to have a face to face interview (over 2 hours long!) and I had to take all bank and CC statements. But like finito says, if you don't have something they can always get it themselves, it just saves time if you have it.
Don't worry it will be fine. What day are ou going?

When did you go BR finito?
I wasn't asked for any insurance documents. So it goes to show no point of worrying about anything because you don't really know what they will ask you for.

It was in March.
I think that each and every OR is slightly different in how they go about things. I guess as long as they work within the OR guidelines, and mine certainly has, they might ask for all sorts of different info just to satisfy themselves all is above board?
I didn't think it was an unreasonable request, and maybe they just wanted to see what the premiums were?0 -
Your insurance? Life insurance?? They need to see the documents to see if they can claim it.
Some life Ins have a cash-in value - those they claim. Some (like mine) have a death only value, so the OR keeps an interest in this. You pay the premiums and your estate claims when you die, the OR has first dibs on your estate (sneaky!) regardless of when you die.... Or you pay £50 to buy out the beneficial interest in your life ins AND you have to change the beneficiary of the life ins from your estate to a specific person (only found out this a short while ago) and the OR has no claim at all.
Or you cancel your life ins and get new ins. Depending on age/smoker/sex etc this can be cheaper.0 -
No, It really was only my vehicle insurance and my home contents insurance.
I have no life insurance.:eek:0 -
As I said earlier, I think they ask for what is appropriate for each case. Everyone is different.
