Hello
I am quite new to batch cooking and freezing and I want to make a big heap of pakora to serve with my frozen curries. However I am unsure whether or not you can freeze pakora and if so after the first or second cooking. Also if you know the best way to reheat it? Thank you in advance!

I've never managed to successfully freeze and re-heat pakora's
the mushroom ones taste foul and are soggy, the chicken ones not much better, I make them fresh each time now so will be interested if anyone can help?

Hi, I just wanted to say that I recently made a huge batch of (mixed vegetable) pakora for the first time and froze what we didn't use.
Last night we heated some from the freezer and they turned out totally fine, nice and crispy.
You should just try a few and see if you like the result. There may be health implications if you are reheating meat but I am veggie so I am not sure about that.

!!! You have to be very careful with reheating, vegetables are no different according to a food hygiene course I was at. Frozen food from supermarkets is different to freezing it at home because it's 'quick frozen' at the factory. We were also told that rice and pasta are the biggest culprits as regards food poisoning, reheating it from warm can be very dangerous and is usually the cause of any food poisoning from a takeaway rather than the actual chicken/prawns/beef or whatever. I can't remember the exact details of what you shouldn't or should do with rice but if you Google 'rice food poisoning' it should throw it up.
EDIT>>>> This is a guide to vegetarian food hygiene and there is a wide range of high risk non-meat foods http://www.rbkc.gov.uk/Environmentalservices/FoodHygieneandStandards/vegetarian.asp0 -

The problem with rice is if it has been kept warm and then reheated, not if it has been cooled quickly and stored in the fridge or freezer. It is perfectly safe to reheat it if it has been stored properly.
I really believe modern food hygiene is the enemy of economical kitchen practice. No wonder so much food is thrown away in this country :rolleyes:0 -
Yes there is no problem if it's done correctly0
