How to clean light leather shoes?

My son has recently treated himself to some ludicrously expensive Boss leather shoes in a light brown and on first wearing has sloshed beer over one of them! I'm wanting to help him salvage them whilst hopefully keeping the leather light. Does anyone have any ideas, please? So far I've done nothing.

I think some leather shoe cleaner might be a better option.
Is there a proper cobblers or a decent shoe shop you could ask, although it would have to be tomorrow.
Or......have you tried googling for an answer
