Yes Car Credit
Options
Back in November 2000 I bought a car from "Yes Car Credit" / "Direct Auto Finance". Its a long story but basically their sales tactics were shocking to say the least, they clearly had tactics for dealing with customers, wearing them down, making you wait for hours on end, litterally 4 hours, not answering questions, not providing prices for vehicles and putting off any questions relating to the cost. Going through your personal and financial details in front of all the other waiting customers, generally adding pressure, so ultimatly you sign anything just to get out.
I even asked if I could come back after the weekend so I could think about the "deal", but was told if I left I would not be able to come back it was now or not at all.
Ultimatly I walked away with a £6,000 car which really was not what I wanted and with a total finance and insurance package of over £13,000, plus an extra £2,000 car insurance package I had to take out via one of their approved insurers, to make things worse I find out weeks later I could have bought a higher spec and newer model of the same car for less than £3,000.
I complained to the company at the time but as I was young and nieve and I was unaware I had the ability to do anything other than writing a letter of complaint and I was stuck with just over £400 per month repayments for insurance and car finance.
As there is a lot of talk about bank chrages and PPI I was hoping to find out if I can make any claim against the company? I was forced into buying breakdown cover, car insurance and PPi without being given an option.
When I tried to cancel the various insurance policies at a later date I was told I could do so but they would put up the interest rate on the loan to compensate, which meant I would loose the insurances but still pay the same.
The load was over a 5 year period so has been paid off for a while but I just want to know if I can do anything to get money back.
Any advice would be appreciated

I think if you have written proof of some of the things you are saying then you may have a claim but someone with more knowledge may be able to offer better adviceAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00

You won't be able to anything about the loan now but you may be able to reclaim the PPI... best to go over the the thread/boards on reclaiming PPI.
But now I'm sure you are older and wiser and save for things you want and don't ever need loans (mortgage excepted of course)0 -

Thanks for the comments and PM meandjeff.
My "Good Grief" comment was aimed at a (now removed) post containing nothing but text speak rendering the entire reply unreadable.
It's shocking that people can be so uneducated they cannot string a simple legible paragraph together, even the non native English speakers do much better than some of the native English speakers.
It wasn't aimed at the OP whom I apologise to for dragging this off an a tangent, I was asked to reply to this post via PM.
I don't need to name who wrote the ineligable reply do I meandjeff?0 -

The simple truth is that there are a number of issues to challenge here. PPI and other insurances will be challengeable. There is probably a non dislcosed commission at the front of this. The agreement will probably challengeable. Certainly plenty to go at.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0 -
