help! when in T*co, what is a facing?

Writing up an audit and don't know what a facing is...aaaaahhhhh!I have wikied it and none the wiser, asked staff in there and got told different things.

AFAIK, a facing is similar to how many columns of product there are.
Eg.:Say you're looking at cartons of drink face-on, there are 3 facings of @, 2 of # and 4 of *
