What a bunch of smart-*rses - sometimes when I hear the patronising tone of some of these mortgage advisers I am glad the industry is going t*ts up. They will have to go and work in an industry where they are less perfect and have others mock their lack of knowledge.

We have gone from "no way will a crash happen as the government wont let it happen" to it will be all over in 12 to 18 months time...what will people say next because i reckon you will be typing in three years time and the housing market will be in carnage and the mere mention of the word housing will get you those stares..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

I take it I need to read something other than The Economist to become as arrogant as some of these respondees?

would help if you took your head out of your backside too, and realised that none of the "arrogant" responses are actually from advisers on this thread!
