Question re CC company selling my debt

Hi there, 1st post for me.
I was delcared BR in June (Scotland), still getting the occasional letter but sending them the BR certificate and a letter seesm to be stopping them.
My CC co sold my debt to some scum collection company 11 days after I was declared BR, and I got my first letter from them yesterday, phoned them and had them told.
At what point can I tell them to stop hassling me? after I have proved my BR status is it illegal for them to pursue me?
Does anyone know about the legality of selling debt? because I would dearly love to tell these leeches that I don't owe them anything and they can gtf
Finally, I browsed theses boards at length before taking the plunge into BR, and found them very useful.
My stats were 65k debt and 0k assets...the 65k being 40k from the Inland Revenue, of which 35k was estimates which they wouldn't discuss, so I took preemptive action when they hit me with a charge for payment.

Well, look at it this way - if you pay them you could get a BRO BRU for favouring a creditor. you need to tell them to contact the AiB not you and if they continue to harrass you then you will report them. the only other thing you can do is send them a copy of your BR order / case number with the AiB details (I assume they are your OR) and demandthey stop harrassing you imediatly
You do not owe them anything, you are insolvent, so yes go ahead and tell them to GTF :beer:Bankruptcy Supporters Club No.1790 -
Don't worry I have no intention of paying them anything, copy of BR cert is in the post. Will serve them right for not checking the register before buying the debt, I really hate the scum that phone every 15 minutes all damn nightDogs have owners...my cat has slaves...0

I know exactly what you mean. Doesnt help that up here going BR is so much more difficult. I have been waiting 2.5 years to be taken to court and am only going BR now that they changed the rules, if I didnt get working tax credits I would still be waiting!Bankruptcy Supporters Club No.1790
