Afternoon everyone, I've just spent the last 2 hours making a neck warmer thing for my sister as she is doing fieldwork all next week and was moaning that her scarf would get in the way. My dad has gone to post it first class, I really hope it arrives tomorrow but it has to travel a long way.

I love veg chilli, I make it all the time. It's good because it's healthy and cheap. Well done on the sales CL, and good luck with dooyoo Jen.

I received a £12 HMV voucher from Toluna this afternoon, I added it but the HMV site was being really slow, so I kept refreshing, six times apparently because now it's showing a balance of £72 . It still shows £72 when I refresh. I kind of hope it corrects itself, I don't think I could cope with the guilt of spending that much & I don't want HMV coming after me... Argh!
    Finally bought a home

Nicki - you're a lovely sister making that neck warmer! Hope it gets there in time. xx And fingers crossed about HMV! ;)

    Hi Maria xx Thank you!

Well I had a brilliant idea at lunchtime. My sister does those weird (lol!) reborn dolls (dont know if you have seen them?!). Well hers are really good, and she is doing a show etc. soon and she does custom ones.

anyway, I was in WH Smith getting a birthday card and I saw an A4 portfolio for 1/2 price, and had a bright idea about getting her taht so she can put piccies of all of her dolls in there.

I spent ages doing a front cover for her (in different colours - cream, baby blue and baby pink so she can alternate) and it looks fantastic. And then realised the portfolio i got doesnt have a front cover thingy that you can change! :rotfl:  Im taking it back to WH Smith in a bit, but I have just got one from ebay for £4 including postage, brand new and it looks more professional with thicker insert bits.

    :D

    This is the front cover:

I have seen a programme on women who make them and women who buy them. I gotta say there's alot of strange women that have whole bedrooms full of them and they buy cots, nappies, clothes toys etc for them!

My friend had a still birth :( She took a picture of the baby when it was born and had a reborn doll made identical to her still born baby so she could remember him. Then she started making them herself. They look so real people who make them are very talented to paint on veins, etc. I think the bodies and heads are made from moulds they put in the oven!

i don't think i would want a reborn baby of a baby i lost i think photos would be enough after all people do have to greive and move on not just make a replacement. some of the reborn stuff is a bit creapy and strange.
