In my twice weekly clean around the house I've realised that we probably need a new lino in the bathroom. However money is tight ATM, so I was wondering if there are any tips you lovely peeps might have to help me get my current one clean.
My current one is white (!). There are patches on it with what looks like trodden in dirt, mouldy black type bits near where it meets the bath and of course yuky yellowy bits at the base of the toilet (comes of living in a house with OH and 2 little boys!). I'm not above getting on my hands and knees to scrub it, but I wondered if you had any special tips.
Thanks xxxMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
If it is white I would use Cif on it, I swear by the stuff and although I don't use it very often, I find it works a treat for white things - the bottle I have is easily two years old. I would get a scrubbing brush and Cif and get on your hands and knees.
If it comes up clean enough, if you have or can afford to buy some silicone sealant, I would put a bead of this around the base of the loo and around the egdes to stop wet getting into the joint and going mouldy/smelly. I also have boys and found this makes a difference, especially around the loo. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi1 -

Hi, I have lino in my downstairs loo and occasionally attack it with a splash of bleach diluted in hot water and a scrubbing brush. It comes up really clean. Not sure if bleach is advisable on lino but mine is old and faded anyway.0

I use bleach as my normal floor washing liquid on my lino, always have done, and its been fine. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0
