I work in science research and basically there are SO many things out there that are bad for you. I could find you really horrific toxicological info on just about everything you could eat or drink, tap water, bottled water, the air you breathe, so I kind of don't bother.
In theory we should all avoid getting into cars or crossing the street because that's really risky too. Basically life is really dangerous!
We have this stuff called PBS we use in our lab and we have to fill in so much inof, pages and pages on our risk assessments for using it, the same as you would for some really dangerous substance. And all PBS basically is is a slight skin irritant. But reading about it you'd think it was awful!
But thanks for the info.Pay off CC debt by Xmas 2017 #095 £0 of £11,416 :eek:0 -
Doh sorry in answer to your original question yes I need bubbles if this is going to be a present for my dad. He loves bubble bath and turns his nose up at anything else. He's been known to take presents back for refunds before now!
So I'm guessing making them bubbly is the only way he'll use/appreciate them!
And despite years of bubble baths he's not dead yet.Pay off CC debt by Xmas 2017 #095 £0 of £11,416 :eek:0 -
No thats a fair point, as you say, if we took heed of everything we heard, then we wouldnt get out of bed in a morning!
But on a more natural note, I have noticed my skin is far better nowadays than ever before. I used to use La Prairie and la Mer (no not moneysaving lol!) as I assumed that the most expensive would be best, but now I use homemade soap and flower waters, oils such as jojoba for cleansing makeup, ground beans for exfoliating and my skin glows!
I couldnt go back to chemicals now, not in skin care anyway :-)0 -
True. I think everyone has their own thing they do. Mine is rinsing washing up liquid off plates after washing them, can't cope with the idea of ingesting the stuff. It doesn't seem to bother either of my housemates though!
Yeah also since moneysaving in general, I've found most expensive doesn't = best. It's all a bit trial and error.Pay off CC debt by Xmas 2017 #095 £0 of £11,416 :eek:0 -
Hi 8pnoodles
I've got some really cool individual jelly moulds that i bought in a pack of 4 years ago. One is in the shape of a butterfly which I will use for my niece. I'm not sure where you can get them from now though, maybe poundland? Lakeland have some nice moulds with roses on the bottom but they're a bit pricey at £25 you'd need to use for other things/ lots of times to make this worthwhile.MuMu0 -
I've never made bath bombs (I'm too fond of Lush!), but if the mixture is stiff enough, have you thought of using a piece of cloth? I did this when I made fatballs for the birds. I just filled the cloth, (piece cut from the valance of an old sheet) gathered the top and wrapped a bit of string round the top and hung them up to set. The cloth automatically goes into a round shape.

I was in TK Max this weekend and saw some really cool rubber ice cube trays in the shape of sea horses and penguins. Even cheaper would be to get heart or star shaped ones from IKEA. I've never made these before so i don't know if the bombs'll break up when I try to take them out of the mould but it's worth a try.MuMu0
