  • I bought this exact nail gun a few years back from screwfix and im sure it only cost me a tenner at the time.

Ive only used it once! The nails it uses are very very small, the biggest size is still very small, so the only use i found for it was to nail together some very thin bit of plywood to cover some pipework in my kitchen.

So, all in all, a bit of a waste of money unless you know you are going to use such small nails. It certainly wouldnt be suitable for fencing or anything like that.

Very suitable for laying plywood over floorboards before laying vinyl. Pannelling of any kind Etc. Covering seats with material (Using a batten). Etc.

It's uses are only limited by your ability and imagination.

It'll nail using up to 25 mm (1 Inch in old money).

I have used one for a couple of years and I found it to be very useful and timesaving and if it broke then I would defiitely purchase another!

Thats good, and its good to get a mixed opinion on stuff. I personally found the nail heads were a bit too thin to hold plywood or panneling down. But, like you say, if you get a lot of use out of it its a good purchase.

Yeah... I got a couple of these when they were a tenner too! As you said, never found a real use for them and ended up selling them on ebay for a small profit.

  • I also got one from Screwfix when they were £9.99. I find its uses are limited due to the size of the nails and it sometimes leaves them sticking out a bit which then need tapped in with a hammer. If you have a specific use which you know would suit the size of nails then it is probably very handy but as a general use DIY tool I found it lacking.

Got this for £14.99 Last year.Came with 5000 nails(inc.staples).Had to have the gun collected a few months ago and returned to Screwfix as it kept jamming.Probably a common fault they must have been aware of.They replaced it with a new one all at their expense with postage also.
Does the small jobs when it works.

Thanks for this... I just ordered 3 measures... 1 for me and 2 for my sisters for christmas.. (and yes, they really will love them, just like me) ... I also added a few bits, so the order was over £45 and saved me the £5.95 handling charge

The strait-line laser measure is available from Robert Dyas for £9.99. The delivery cost is a little cheaper at £4.00.
