Hi all,

Past few months I fell into Mortgage arrears with Northern Rock. (£2,500)

I can now afford to pay monthly mortgage with a little bit extra £50 a month for arrears and told NR who seemed ok.

However NR have just served a writ on me (Scotland) and it appears they want to evict me and sell my flat !!

Surely they cant do this if I can meet payments now ??

Ive no idea what to do ??

They are protecting their position. Ensure you keep records of any proposals you have made to Northern Rock regarding payment and arrangements to catch up. Keep up with those payments and make sure you attend the court session.

You could try to contact their arrears department now to see if there is anything you can do to stop it getting to court, but the key point is to make sure you turn up and can show a good faith effort to make the payments and to pay back the arrears. As long as your proposal is reasonable then the judge should sign off on it and you will have the opportunity to keep your home.
