bankrupt but why does one bank still keep writing me letters

i was made bankrupt on 6 may 2006. (the best thing ever) but hsbc (or the collecting company "eversheds" ) still keeps writing me letters . does any one know how i can stop this? the other 5 banks and card companys have stopped all this .

Im Guessing that its because HSBC have passed this on but not the extra info that you are now BR. I would write to Evershed and enclose a copy of your BR and i would hope that would get them off your back as if they contact you after that they are as i am told breaking the law.

Also inform you OR of what is happening. The will normally then put them straight as well.

Debt's are quite often bought by DCA in great big job lots then they write to you hoping you don't know the rules and will pay up.

As K2nga says send them a copy of your brankruptcy order and tell them that they are breaking the law trying to obtain payment to you and if they keep writing to you, you will contact the OFT. Also send the letters to your old OR and say you are being harrased by these people and he will also sort them out.

i just called eversheds and they said sorry i gave them my bankrupsy number he asked me to hold!! then he said no worries the account has been canceled . i am so scared of the phone lol

i think that you get like that. As a kid only good things happen with phones but when you get older and you dread it everytime they ring. I hate the phone now but i should now not get anymore nasty call.
