i am sure they think you lose control during the wedding planning period AND the pregnancy.
i have really pushed the boundaries by doingyoga, eating seafood and having the occasional small glass of wine! :rotfl:
Then you do stuff to make their lives easier like make a wedding list and you get loads of presents that were not on the bloomin list!

My FIL actually attempted to take my starter from me at a restaurant because it contained cheese. I almost stabbed him.

He did this to a pregnant woman?

I might ask GF if we can be DINKYs for ever now, I can't cope with 9 months x however many kids we have of "how's the pregnancy going?"

    ARRGGGHHHHH!!!

Actually, I've just decided. For every person who asks me how the wedding plans are going, I'm going to take £5 off the guests' drinks budget and add it to my honeymoon pot. :D

you had wine!!!!!! you utterly irresponsible woman. Surely now you will give birth to seven legged alien and you will have no one to blame but yourself. And yes, he did that to a pregnant woman. i'm finding that once you're having a baby, you are no longer a person, simply a walking host organ.

You wouldnt get it for 9 months;) best not to tell anyone until the first scan.
I am a rotter though, people ask stupid questions and they dont expect you to be level headed. Like people ask if you had blood tests so i said 'why, I would not have had a termination'
they ask if i want to know the sex i just ask them WHY? i am not going to buy a pink or blue buggy OR get frilly girlie clothes if its a girl. If they persist I go on my rant about people making assumptions about a child's whole LIFE just by looking at them as a baby and what they are dressed in...
They say stupid stuff like 'ooh you are getting big' (no sh*t sherlock)
Then there's 'ooh you don't want to breastfeed do you?'
'dont you think you should have a ceasarian'

    Oh it is fun! LOL

It is a relief after the wedding that the daft wedding questions stop!

So true. When I told people i was fully planning on having an epidural they looked at me as though I'd told them that during my labour I was planning to mainline heroin whilst smoking a bit of crack. and when they say "oh but don't you want to be fully aware of everything that's going on?" I just think, no, not the pain, would you like to be fully aware of having your appendix out so you could say that you didn't need pain relief? I'm not a martyr and i have nothing to prove. bring on the pain relief big time please.

I must be the odd one out then really... I like talking about my wedding.... That's probably why I'm in the weddings board.... I only plan to do it once, why not talk about it when other people bring it up?

Oh and I also love being 'Aimee's mom' it doesn't define me, it defines a role I'm very proud to take.... I never thought it would happen so when it did, why would I deny it?
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I don't think it's about anyone denying anything, I think it's about the assumption that some people have that if you are pregnant or planning a wedding then you have NOTHING ELSE to discuss. And I'm very proud to be having a baby, but my ability to procreate is not a defining feature of my personality, it's just nature.

Absolutely - I love the fact that in 16 days time I'll have a wife - but, I don't like the fact that all these people who I've never had a problem with conversation before, now only ever talk wedding!

Yep same here, I do like to talk about it, but it's like people can't think of anything else to say, so ask how the wedding plans are going just to make conversation, and you can tell they really aren't interested, just asking for soemthing to say to you.
