Looking at assets - WWYD

Sorry for the very inane question but I hope someone can help me.
It's my birthday next week and I'm getting money from pretty much everyone. I want to put it all together and get one thing but this is going to cost just short of £200.
Would I be better to wait until after we have gone BR?
We let the mortgage company know today that we were handing the house back to them due to imminent BR (on the advice of the CCCS) and are planning to go to court during the first week of Sept (it's a drop in service).
I can wait but want my birthday present!!
What would you do?
Thanks

Hi MrsST,
That's an easy one; buy it.
The O.R isn't interested in items of that value, and gifts are classed as exempt property anyway; unless it's a £200k Masserati.

Something worth only £200 is not considered an assett. Antiques and big, boy toy electrical items are.
Anyway if you are paying with cash given to you then there is no trace as it won't go through your account.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Thank you both.
tigerfeet, it will have to go through my account as it's an online buy. I wouldn't have worried about it otherwise, lol!
I'll save the Maserati for my 40th.......we'll have been discharged by then
