Help with letter for mortgage application.

hi guys
i have been asked to send in a couple of other bits of paperwork and a covering letter as to why i missed a mortgage payment and was late paying a couple of times and also why i have a ccj.
can anyone offer any advice on how to write it .
i know only i know why i didnt pay things on time im just unsure as to how to word it.
i know they wont want to listen to me going on and on.
i also know the application wont hang just on this letter but i would still like to do my best.
any advice??

I would get it in the post quick sharp too...I think your applicaiton is goign through Solent Mortgage Services having read another post?? They are going down the pan......just about to close thier office in cornwall and are making redundencies, so dont sit on it!!!

Hopefully.....i dont think they are going to shut up shop overnight, or within a few weeks....but its on the cards. If i was your broker I wouldnt be using them.....her (it was a she wasnt it?) commission is by no means safe!

Looks like my prediciton was correct, they have gone into administration today.

Has your mortgage already goen through smnb08?

I had an e-mail yesterday @ 1605h to say they had gone into administration. They mentioned that GE money took a 20% stake in them 18 months ago. Look at GE now!!!

smnb08 you have been trying to re-mortgage forever it seems like!!! What lender you going through now?

Hopefully the case will be farmed out to a different packager so it can continue.
