Hi,
I've just aquired a slow cooker (freecycle
) and am slowly reading through all the indexed threads, recipes etc so haven't tried anything yet, but I did have an idea that i wanted a sanity check on.....
for homemade banoffee pie I boil an unopened tin of condensed/evaporated (can't remember which) milk for about 3 hrs to make the toffee substance.
This steams up the whole kitchen and you have to keep topping up the water in the saucepan.
Would it be possible to do it in a slow cooker???
Also - can anyone quickly tell me how you do jacket potatoes in the slow cooker?

Hi zebedy,
I don't know about the condensed milk in the slow cooker but if it works it would be a good idea. Some people have had success with jacket potatoes in the slow cooker you can read what they said on this thread: CQ - Baked spuds in Slow cooker??
