Hey, first post.
Emusic is offering 25 free music downloads (and one free audiobook) when you sign up for its 14 day trial (credit card required). However, if you go via xfms website you can get 50 free music downloads (and still one free audiobook).
The range of artists is slightly limited at the moment but its free and legal.
Downloads are said to work with any mp3 player (they work with my iPod) and I have signed-up, downloaded and cancelled my subscription hassle free.

I did this a while ago. Range of music is awful - mostly unknown bands. I struggled to find enough songs to download. And then I downloaded one too many as the counter stopped working and got charged for a months subscription.
I did find some old Libertines, some Billy Bragg, and there is an album by The Plain White T's which is pretty good - other than that, load of tripe and a waste of time.FREEBIES/WINS SO FAR: Urban cricket set, 10 perfumes, ring-sizer, toilet 'hippo' water saver, 3xWii remote jackets, various music downloads,
