just found another option , lxdirect - use some of the discount codes along with greasypalm cashback and you should be able to get at least £20 off the price

sorry to jump in on your thread but I'm actually looking for a super king sized duvet (the inside bit) and wondered if anyone had bought one reasonably priced??Official DFW Nerd 2100

We have had a super-king sized bed since 1975, and finding an electric blanket big enough has always been a problem. We thought the problem was solved about 3 years' ago when we spent about £90 on buying a 'Dreamland' BF4A underblanket - the same as is on the Amazon site. Well, it lasted less than 2 years before one of the controllers went 'on the blink' (literally - the red light just 'blinked', but no heat). We tried to get a repair/replacement controller, but the company had gone into liquidation, so we had a full refund from John Lewis.
The wife then had a brainwave. We bought a simple Morphy Richards double bed size electric blanket, and the same model - but in a single size - and SEWED the two together. There is sufficient leeway along the edges of the blankets to avoid any over-lap, and no over-heating has occured. The tapes were used to secure it to the bed - under a quilted mattress cover - and it performed valiant service last winter, and has just been put back on the bed for this year.
The total cost was £35 - £19.95 for the double bed size, plus £14.95 for the single bed size. The size of the combined blankets was 178 cms - so that gives better coverage than the (so-called) 'Dreamland' model0 -

We got our duvet free with our bed,so haven't had to buy one.
The new duvet set came from Rosebys, not a cheap option, so I think the factory4u site would be cheaper.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
