Small Loan - Poor Credit Rating

Hello, I'm currently looking for a small loan in order to get my income going again. I'm a photographer and my camera has broken, so need some capital to buy a new one. Obviously this means my income is currently at a standstill until I have my new camera!

The problem being I'm a single parent with a poor credit history, and therefore not looked on particularly favourably by loans companies. What would be my best option in securing a loan or otherwise raising in the region of £300-£500?

Obviously the option of loaning from a friend or family member is not available, and I don't really have anything to sell that would raise the money, so I'm in a bit of a tight spot.

Any advice or help is appreciated!

Thank you :)

I'm not sure it's a "best option" at all - but I've got a poor credit rating and got accepted for one of those sub-prime credit cards with a limit of £500. You can probably find out more in the credit card forum.

Also, do you have a business bank account? Or indeed this *might* work with your personal bank account. You could try and explain the situation and arrange an overdraft (or extension to your overdraft).
