Turkey Joint - Very Cheap, but how do I cook it?

Got a half price Turkey joint tonight in Tesco, but am not really sure how to cook it. I have been avidly following the tips for slow cooker cooking and cooked a full chicken for the first time in it last week ( another bargain). Someone mentioned last week, putting a meat joint in the slow cooker on scrumpled up tin foil. Should I do this with the turkey - any suggestions will be gratefully accepted.
Thanks so much

You dont say what type of turkey joint it is. Is it a leg portion or a breast portion?
If its a leg, you could simply put it in a curry sauce in the slowcooker. If its a breast then Id cook it in the oven, basted in butter and covered with bacon and foil. If you open it, there are usualy cooking instructions on the back of the label.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
I had a turkey breast joint & cooked it in the slow cooker, I didn't put any liquid or anything with it. I think I cooked it a bit too long, though (overnight) or perhaps I should have basted it or something. It was fine, but the outside was a bit dry. I would do it again, but not for so long.0

how long would you recommend for cooking large turkey breast joint in the SC? No instructions on the packet as bought the meat from butchers. I have a morphy richards/slimmer's world oval SC.
I was thinking of cooking with bacon over the skin, and some chicken stock (cube) and maybe finish it off in the normal oven when spuds are cooking to crisp it up a bit. or would it be wiser to cook in the oven as per post 2 above?
This is for Easter Sunday or Monday, depending how much of the SW brisket the kids chow down
TIA :A any replies much appreciated, and yes I have checked the mega indexed SC collection:T
