Car Parking at Northampton General Hospital

Whilst DD was on the Children's ward, we discovered that you can obtain a 24 hour parking extension. You have to buy the first ticket and then if you ask on the ward, they give you a note to attach to it which extends the time.
It wasn't advertised anywhere, one of the other mum's tipped me off.
Given that it is something like £10 a day to park, this is a good thing to know.
I don't know if it applies to all wards or just to the children's ward (because parents are staying on the ward too)

I have a feeling it's just Children's ward (and poss Talbot Butler?).
Can you still park in the surrounding streets, or are they all residents permit parking now? ISTR driving round for half an hour looking for a parking space when DS#1 had a dietician appointment.:mad:just in case you need to know:

They all seem to be parking permits now.
We found street parking on the Sunday that we ended up in A&E but then you have the problem of walking around the streets alone after dark when you go to retrieve the car.
Sort of related,
there is some street parking around the industrial estate if you need to go to Kettering Hospital but OH walks by during his lunch break and has very occaissionally seen cars parked too near the roundabout ticketed so make sure you go far enough along the road and park right on the verge.
It really bugs me having to pay to park for hospital appointments - its like a tax on being ill. I suppose I wouldn't mind so much if I could see where the money was going (upgraded waiting area, new scanner or whatever) and it just keeps going up and up as it is such an easy way to cream some dosh. It annoys me even more when you are kept waiting 1 1/2 for your appointment as that bumps you into the next pay zone.7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -
You might as well call an ambulance to avoid car parking charges!I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0
